1 Schedule
Creation: Today I’m producing a schedule that will guide me through the
process of completing my magazine for the 1st March 2014. The
objects that I have outlined in my treatment will help me produce this
schedule, and help me recognize 3 tasks I have to complete in college and
three tasks I have to complete as homework. I want homework to take
approximately 4 hours per week. This is a fair enough time to still focus on
my other subjects I have in college.
2 Schedule
Creation: Today I will be looking at other things that are important in
my dairy, for example other exams or pieces of coursework I have to complete
– this will help me produce a schedule worth sticking to. In order to do this
is need to ask other tutors of important dates I need to look out for.
3 Schedule
Creation: Today, finally I will be putting into place all my tasks in
order to achieve for my schedule, then I will be writing them down on this
word document, diary’s and calendars to make sure I stick to my schedule.
4 Project
Monitoring & Blog updates: This involves me checking my blog and
making sure entry’s are being made and my blogs up to date. Whilst doing this
I’m going to write an entry updating myself on my schedule. By writing where
I am at this point I can make sure I’m on track and re-evaluate what I still
need to do and what iv already achieved.
Homework
1: For homework this week, I’m going to start
re-searching my articles in depth. This involves taking one DPS at a time and
identifying what information I want to tell my audience about a specific
area. I will be teaching myself about the subjects before I teach my
audience, therefor the information has to be accurate and in depth. I will
also be looking at what other writers have written about the topic and
identifying what they find important. This task is quite big because I have
to cover 3 DPS with about 1000 words each, and I have to note down what I
want to include in my article. It will take me approximately 2-3 hours to
finish this task.
Homework 2: Once I know what I’m writing
about I can start to think of witty headlines and cell lines. The headline
and cell lines are probably the most important part of the DPS because they
draw in my audience and make people want to read on. Therefor I really need
to spend a lot of time looking carefully at what I’m actually writing about
and try to reflect that in my title. Sometimes clever headlines that include
a bit of humor always help in attracting an audience. This task could take up
to 2 hours.
Homework 3: For this week’s homework task
I’m going to think about the language I’m going to use in my magazine. Ill
have to identify the language for each DPS because everyone is different.
This means I will decide if I’m writing in second person, using taboo or
having an interview style. If I decide to have an interview style, I’m going
to think of the questions I want to ask my interviewee. This means I will
have to think what I need to know from the interviewee and prepare a set of
questions.
Exams/other
subject deadlines: I haven’t got any other
subjects to think about at the minuet, but because I work weekends, I have to
be committed to the fact my college work will have to work around my job.

Lesson
1:
For task one I’m going to prepare my layouts
for all my DPS’s, cover and context pages. This involves working out my
measurements, creating boxes for text and headlines, and saving the document
to a save place so that its ready for when I need it. This could take the
entire lesson because it’s a long time since I used InDesign and I may need
to re-teach myself.
Lesson
2:
For this lesson I’m going to start making my
titles on Photoshop. I prefer to make my titles on Photoshop because I feel
they look better quality and you can make them look funky rather than a
boring font and poor quality. Also I feel its easier to transfer across to
InDesign as a picture. I will need to make 5 titles as well as the subheadings
that it comes with them. This could spread into two lessons.
Lesson
3:
For this lesson I’m going to finish off
anything I had in the previous lesson (Producing titles and subheading). Once
all my titles are finished, I’m going to move them across to InDesign, then
position them where they belong. This is where errors could occur because I
might find once I get them on the page, they don’t quite match or it doesn’t
fit properly or guenily I don’t like it on the page. So I might have to go
back to Photoshop and re-think the design of my titles, and re-produce
them.
Lesson
4 Project Monitoring & Blog:
(Refer to last weeks schedule because the
same again will be happening) This will take up around ¾ of the lesson so to
finish off the lesson I’m going to make sure I’m completely happy with the
layout of my DPS’s, make sure titles are correct and measurements are right.
Homework
1:
For my homework task I’m going to start
writing the first draft on my DPs’s. This is a really big task therefor I
might not get it done all in one go, I might have to take breaks or start
again the next day but once its done it’s a big part of my project out the
way. These will only be my first draft but once they’re all complete I can
get them marked and start to think of my second draft. Because I will have
only just finished my re-search it will still be fresh in my head, so
hopefully my articles will be detailed and informational. This could take at
least a day, maybe even longer.
As well as this I need to remind my models about
the photo-shoot they will have the next day, and pre-pare myself for this
shoot, get clothes make up and props ready.
Exams/other
subject deadlines:
Work commitments and data investigation
coursework for English.

Lesson
1:
For this lesson I will be preparing and
completing my photo-shoot. I already have my models prepared for the shoot. I
will need to attend the lesson a little earlier to make sure the camera and
lighting is set up and ready. My models are turning up all ready to go with
make up and hair done, that they’ve already been told about. The photos I’m
taking are quite simple; there is nothing to fussy or awkward to take. Once
my photos are taken I need to upload them straight away onto my own workspace
so I don’t loose them or they accidently get deleted. This will take up the
whole lesson.
At the end of the lesson I’m going to hand
in my first draft of my article and ask my tutor to mark it for Friday.
Lesson
2:
For this lesson I am going to edit my
pictures to make them look professional. Although this seems like a simple
task it takes a while to make sure the pictures are as good as they can be.
Also I haven’t used Photoshop in a while so ill be re-teaching myself.
Lesson
3:
For
this lesson I’m going to put my pictures into each double page spread. I need
to make sure there in the right place and make sure there they match the
quality of my titles. If the pictures don’t suite I have time to plan another
photo-shoot or maybe even go back to photos and alter them again. This will
take the majority of the lesson.
4
Project Monitoring & blog:
(Refer to last weeks schedule because the
same again will be happening)
I need to pick up my first drat of my
article ready to do a second draft.
Homework
1:
This week I have a lot of work to do in
other subjects so iv planned this week making sure I don’t have as much
homework to do. So for my homework this week I’m going g to dot he second
draft of my article and make sure I have altered any mistakes and re-written
anything that doesn’t make sense. This will take the majority of my weekend
and will be ready to hand in for Monday morning.
Exams/other
subject deadlines:
Work and English language coursework. Also
my Graphic exam will have started.

Lesson
1:
For this lesson I’m going to focus on
looking for good fonts that I will write each article in. This could involve
a lot of in-depth re-search to make sure the font matches the stories I’m
writing about. Also I will have to make sure each font is readable. I might
find myself using the same font for each article if I find a good one. Not
only will I need a font for my text ill need find one for subheadings and
breakout boxes. This will take the whole lesson.
Lesson
2:
For this lesson in going to put everything
together. I already have my pictures in the document and the heading and
subheading, so this lesson is just a case of putting the text around the
images and titles. I’m not finishing off this lesson though, its just simple
putting in the text. This could take quite a lot of time, because the last
time I used InDesign was a while ago and I may need to remind myself of how
to use this tool.
Lesson
3:
For this lesson it’s finishing everything
off, making sure everything looks as good as it possible could. Making sure
the fonts are right, pictures are clear, its readable, titles are positioned
right and everything looks professional. Once this is done I need to export
everything and make sure its saved securely.

Project Monitoring & Blog:
(Refer to last weeks schedule because the
same again will be happening)
Homework
1:
For my homework from my home computer I need
to print everything out several times.
Homework
2:
This is when the audience testing happens. I
need to start with the family and ask them what they like about my magazine
and what they thin I could improve. I will circle or write down the places
they believe I need to improve.
Exams/other
subject deadlines:
Driving lessons will have started and also
deadlines for graphics will be happening, this is why this week is an easy
week. As well as this I have work commitments.

Lesson
1:
For this lesson I will be asking everyone I
see for his or her opinion on my magazine. I will either record their
opinions or write them down. I need as many different opinions as I could
possible get. I want the majority of people to be people that are like my
target audience to get the best possible results.
Lesson
2:
For this lesson I will simple be altering my
magazine so that it’s the best possible. I won’t be altering everything
everyone said but most things will be getting altered. This may mean I have
to re do a photo shoot or re-write a part of the text or even change the
title, so this could take a while.
Lesson
3:
Same as lesson two.
4
Project Monitoring & blog:
